I Love Scotland in the Sunshine…..

When you’re planning your next big travel adventure it’s easy to get so caught up in going somewhere new and exotic that you forget about the beauty that is right outside your front door! I have definitely been guilty of this lately. This weekend however I was blessed enough to spend a fabulous weekend camping at Loch Lomond with my amazing family and it reminded me what wonders are immediately available to me and often on many other people’s travel bucket list! Scotland really is BEAUTIFUL and when the sun shines on us there is nowhere in the world I would rather be! We stayed at the Millarochy Bay campsite on the east side of the Loch near Balmaha. It’s less than an hour from Glasgow and although the campsite was busy with the good weather it was so peaceful! Millarochy Bay itself is popular with day trippers due to it’s proximity with Glasgow so it was buzzing with families enjoying some water sports and kids playing in the water! Balmaha is also close by where there are a small selection of Guest Houses and Lodges as well as a lovely Gastropub called The Oak Tree – popular with day trippers, campers and walkers alike! Here are some of my best Instagram photos from the weekend!

If you are planning a trip to Glasgow at any point in the future please include a trip to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. You will not be disappointed! 🙂

FOOTNOTE : Bring insect repellant! The only bad thing are the famous Scottish Midgies – more deadly than any mosquito! Lol!
